Default Can i mount crossovers in the door?

is there a reason why i cannot mount my cross over inside the actual door shell? is it due to moisture?

i searched thru the forum and saw that people are either mounting the cross over in the rear with their amps, or somewhere tucked into the interior panels.

Mine are "mounted" in the door (read thrown in and not secured down).

DD, was fine in my Camaro for a few months and has been fine in my Trans Am for a month or so. Camaro was a Vert, WS6 T-top.

I ALWAYS tuck them under the dash although a friend had them in an fbody for years wrapped up in a zip lock back hanging in the doors

Seal all seams on them with silicone or epoxy or something and spray battery terminal sealer on the connections and you will probably be fine. I still don't recommend it because I don't see a reason to do this.

If you are thinking about this so that you can use the stock speaker wires, though, then rethink it. That's half-assed. It is very easy to run wires through the channel on the door. It took me all of a few minutes per side to do on my Camaro.

i have my wideband controller under the driver dash, i don't want any interference from stereo equipment messing with my tuning.

i'll have to find somewhere else then.

Most crossovers are pretty small and you should have little trouble sticking them under the dash somewhere, and some people have fit them behind the stock kick panels.

I kinda prefer securing them inside the glovebox.
