Default Why are my factory hatch speakers louder than aftermarket front 6.5's?

Just like the title says....sound is way to the rear of my car, I got new Rockford r1652(90% sure) 6.5's.....50x4 good pioneer deck $200+. Still have the factory hatch speakers but they there way louder than the 6.5's.

No fader on my deck unfortunately, and HPF is off....any ideas? Could it be that the hatch speakers are running off the monsoon amp and my fronts are running off the deck?

02 camaro SS

Thanks

Man...maybe I just figured it out. I think they are coaxials and not component speakers...that's probably it?

Unless you rerouted new speaker wire to your doors, the door speakers are still going to be on the monsoon amp. So two things happen - unless they are components, you're missing the highs up front, and also the Rockfords are probably 4 ohm? Stock speakers and amp are 2 ohm, so with mismatched speakers the fronts will be quieter than a 2 ohm.

BTW, if my $100 Pioneer has a fader control, surely your $200 unit has one...

Mine's the same, didn't think about the 2 ohm vs. 4 ohm but that's gotta be it. I'm planning on replacing my rear ones anyway, till then I've got it faded forward.

Yeah found the fader lol took a little while without the manual. Sounds better faded but That's probably it.

Would it make sense to switch my front 6.5's to the sails and then get new 2 ohm door speakers?

Fronts won't work in the sails, the take a sub only, no coaxial or component. I just put some audiopipe 6.5s in mine, and they're better but not great. I'm looking for a small box and a 10" to put back there somewhere.
