Default power window help

Every couple of days the driver window starts acting up, switch doesn't work, window moves alittle and stops wait and try again moves alittle bit...

Then pass window always seems to slow down as it reaches top...

I found a link the other day bout buying a kit to fix pass window, but cant seem to find again, anyone got link?

And do I need a motor , regulator, relay or something for driver?

Also what's the brush called that stops window tint from getting scratched up? Who I buy from?

Sounds like your driver side motor needs replaced. The pass fix is made by a company - google passenger side window fix ( bought my kit a month or so ago on amazon)

There is also a post on here somewhere of someone that made their own fix kit. Pretty simple stuff, good luck!

The same company (Autotrix, the kit is sold by a sponsor here I just forget which one) makes a driver side fix kit too. Thing is, it costs a whole lot more because of the express down system. I toyed with the idea of just bypassing the express down and using the cheap kit but I never did. Now I haven't had that car for over a year and a half, and I don't know what's been done to the window wiring on the one I'm getting in a few weeks.

You need two new motors. The drivers side is close to death and the passenger side is getting there.

FYI - The autotrix kit will "polish the turd" make a bad motor look better. It won't actually fix the problem with the motors.

For a "polished turd" my passenger motor worked better than new after the fix kit.

Even if the motor is totally shot, installing the kit at least on the passenger side is worth it to prevent wearing out future motors over and over.

It polishes the turd brightly.

I think its borderline. A lifetime motor is less expensive than the kit, so the replacement of the motor would really have to be annoying to someone in order to be worth it. Once the shbox method is used to replace a motor, any future replacements are a breeze.

lol I suppose it does

I don't recall spending more than 20 bucks for the kit but it was a long time ago and I haven't checked prices lately.

The passenger side w/o express is $35 now but if you want the express feature on the driver's side or passenger's side, it goes up to $135.

Yeah... That's why I was thinking of modding the passenger side kit and just losing the express down. Never really messed with it.

I'm assuming the felt piece your asking about is the window stabilizer. Part number 10257988. Lots of em on eBay.

The driver's side window has an express-down module that allows one to tap the switch to put the window all the way down. The passenger side doesn't have the feature, but if you want the car to be like an Audi (kinda) and have the feature on both sides, you can add an express-down module on the passenger side.

Its a pretty popular mod, which seems to drive up the cost of the modules. (Its nearly impossible to find used ones.)

Its one of those mods that some people like, but I agree with you. For the price i'll just hold the button down. My truck has express down on both sides and I still find myself holding the button down regardless.
