Default DDX418 "Call Interrupt" when I push the clutch in.....what?

Wired up my new kenwood DDX 418 last night. Sounds great and I am liking it so far. Thought I was good to go until i actually drove the car. Every time I push the clutch in, the music stops and the unit goes to a "call interrupt" screen. As soon as the clutch is back off the floor, the music is back. Its very annoying. Any things I should check before I call up kenwood? I did wire in the 1.5k ohm resistor that came with the wiring kit which is supposed to stop the "pop" from the amps.

Car is a 2004 mustang cobra btw
