New Stereo and speakers, ok to use existing wiring?

Default New Stereo and speakers, ok to use existing wiring?

Would it matter if I use the existing speaker wire or does that need t be replaced too? Thanks

The answer is... it depends. If you have a base (4-speaker) audio system then yes you can use the factory wiring. If you have a Monsoon system then it depends on the speakers you bought. If you got the correct types (components for the doors and subs for the sail panels) then again you can use the factory wiring. On the other hand, if you bought coaxial or other full range speakers then you will have to rewire because the Monsoon amp doesn't produce the signal you need.

In any case, DO NOT butcher the factory wiring to install your new head unit. Do it right and buy a $10 wiring harness adapter.
