strange VATS issue. can't clear security light. car starts.

strange VATS issue. can't clear security light. car starts. so last night i pulled my car out of the garage to change positions with my other car (leaking AC unit) anyway, i shut the car off and when i went to move it a few minutes later it wouldn't start. the security light was on and after 3-4 minutes i finally got it started. now it starts just fine but the security light is stuck on. i figure it went into failsafe mode as it probably detected the right chip code at some point. but now i can't get it out of fail safe mode. i disconnected the battery a few times to reset it and that didn't work. i finally resorted to disconnecting the battery overnight and that still won't do it. i also tried the key in the ignition for 10 mins trick and that seemed to do nothing. what should i do?

sounds like your ignition switch is about to head south and probably at a time when your out somewhere and gets you stuck... Look into doing the resistor bypass or replace the ignition switch.

yeah i ordered a plug in module from ebay and will put that in when i get it just to shut off the stupid light. i kind of wanted to keep VATS but my car sits in the garage most of hte time anyway so i guess VATS really isn't helping me that much.
