'01 Trans Am Running lights / turn signals repaired
I know it has been mentioned many many times before, but WTH just did it and turned out good. old subject I know.
Front corner turn signals / parking lights were getting soaked! Took it apart and the plugs were barbequed.
Here are parts I used and steps for my '01 T/A
New 2 clear lenses $50.75 from Ebay
New 2 LED 3157 Amber lights $6.99 from Ebay
New 2 Sockets from AutoZone p/n. 85881 $7.99 each
New 1 blinker flasher from Autozone p/n. 552 $3.99
Lifted car on a ramp, only need to open side flaps (2 bolts each) under bumper. Strip wiring and soldered in new plugs, extended the wiring a few inches for future ease. Take care when reusing old screws, they will snap in the new lense housing, either pre-run in screws by tightening and loosening until in, or use a new shorter (and stronger) screw. I got them all wired and installed, lighted but didn't blink, a new blinker flasher fixed it (I think the soaked bulbs and wiring fried the blinker too).

You needed a new flasher because LED bulbs don't draw enough current to make the factory thermal flasher heat up and interrupt the current (flash).
Keep an eye on them - most LED bulbs are not warranted or capable of running as DRLs. They will fail because of the heat, usually in just a few weeks (couple of months at the most).
