Drivers side window

when i first get in the car, my drivers side window will go down..but when i try to put it up, nothing happens, until i open the door and close it (for the most part) i figured maybe a window motor, but im pretty sure its electrical...where to start?
and i have replaced the switch....could it be the connections going to the switch have gone bad?

Its most likely a bad motor. Opening and closing the door can knock the motor around or give it time to cool, which probably puts it in a space to work for a bit.
You should search the forum as there are thousands of posts on this. The motors are a consistent weak point on these cars and there are many good tips here on how to replace them and on which brands of motors will be most durable going forward.
