I did a search and read the stickiy, but i did not find what I was loooking for. I just picked up a 99 camaro with every speaker blown. I plan on replacing every speaker and replacing the monsoon deck. For the speakers, I want to keep cost down. Can someone point me in the right direction?

we all like to be cheap bastards but car audio is something i will splurge on for quality. Esp cause i love drive in movies and get a kick out of being the loudest but best sounding stereo there. Infiniti has great quality components. You usually get what you pay for.

I'm a NON-monsoon car myself, but as far as budget speakers go I like my setup, but my fronts REALLY need an amp on them before passing final judgement.
My setup is my time tested and proven unkillable Eclipse Titanium 15" (9 years old next month and still hits like day 1, and it was in a car that got flooded halfway up the box), but I'm selling it and replacing it with 2 Planet Audio BB212D 12's I scored for 220 for the pair brand new so I can finally put this amp down to 1 ohm (yes it is 1 ohm stable).
My sail panel (since i'm not monsoon I can run 4-ohm speakers) are a pair of SSL CP64 that I got for 20 bucks a piece brand new, I can't speak to there low end as I have a HPF on my Pioneer HU set at 125Hz, but frankly they over power my front speakers but they are amazingly clear for the money, I really didn't expect much for the price, but I guess there is something to be said for a "paper" cone.
My doors are a pair of Polk Audio DB6501 components that look awesome and for the most part sound good, the "S's" in songs can be a little harsh at times, but I'm hoping putting an amp to them will clear them up, all the reviews say they sound way better with an amp. I got them for just under 108.
So all in all I've spent 370 total on new speakers for this car, but if you take away the cost of the subs I only spent 150 replacing all 4 factory speakers and am very pleased with the results.

id go to doubledmods.com and check out their package deal for the hybrid audio stuff. one of the packages is $380 for a set of hybrid imagine 6.5", bazooka dvc subs and hybrid mirus coaxials for the hatch. thats an insane deal cuz the imagine 6.5" go for $300 alone and the bazookas for another $90, so the coax are basically free and then some.
for those that dont know, hybrid audio is regarded as high quality speakers and one of the best bangs for the buck. if i had found out about them sooner, id have bought the package myself
