Default dyna mat questions please give experiences

ok who has put dyna mat in their interior areas (floor, trunk)???
how much noise did it reduce HONESTLY...

here is my situation: my ws6 has not been my daily driver for the last several years, the car has all the mods, motor, suspension, rod ended suspesnion pieces, poly mounts etc....the noise, vibrations, etc now drive me crazy and I love my car but after driving my G8 GT and it is so refined and smooth and quiet I want to try to quiet down the noise inside my WS6
I know it will not be 100% quiet but if i can make a signfigant improvement it will be worth the time and effort

so to those who have added dyna mat or a different product please share your experiences and advice...

thanks

I recently put in sound deadener in my camaro with full exhaust (TSP-ORY-GMMG) and it made a huge difference! I didn't pay half of what Dynamat costs either. I did double layers of B-Quiet Ultimate and on top of that I put their V comp sound barrier and my factory carpet on top. I bought 100 sq. ft. of the ultimate and 2 rolls of the V comp. The V comp i just rolled one across the back and split it once it went over the rear seat hump and into the rear seat area, then took the 2nd roll and cut in half and they line up perfectly in the driver and passenger's areas all the way up to the floor board. It is so much quieter and it wasn't hard at all to install.

this should really be in Stereo & Electronics not Appearance & Detailing, but try searching on here the subject has been covered extensively. Couple key points to get you started, the typical "dynamat" that has the silver back and sticky rubber-like face that goes on the panels is more for stopping the panels from vibrating then actually blocking noise, it will have some effect on road noise but not a lot, to block road noise you need a CCF (closed cell foam) liner.

It makes a big difference. I did my entire car but from what I read you don't have to cover the entire thing but I did anyway.

Do it right the first time get Second Skin audio sound deadening. It not cheap, but it works really good. I did inside the doors, floors, roof, dash, inside the sail panels, trunk area, and qtr panels, I also used 4 can of Cascade VB-1S PRO Quiet Kote under-body spray on sound deadening.

It won't do anything to quiet rod-ended suspension components...it'll help damp some of the sheet metal buzz, but don't expect it to work miracles.

No it definitely won't perform miracles, but the correct type of sound deadening in appropriate locations will cut down on noise transfer a good bit!
Rod-ends will transmit more impact harshness from the road, but on a smooth road rod-ends should be perfectly quiet; unless of course they're worn or the jam-nuts are loose. The worst location is through the rear LCA.

I used Q-pads in the formula. I went through the whole interior and installed a 6x6" piece anywhere that resonated when i tapped with my knuckles. It made a noticeable difference.

My exhaust is a 3" x-pipe with bullets in the middle, magnaflow 4x9x14's in the back with 4.5" borla tips.

With the windows up, i could hear my stereo clearly at low volumes. When i rolled down the windows, the exhaust note immediately got twice as loud.

That's when I really notice the difference.

I went through and did my whole car with the cheap stuff off of ebay a while back and it helped a good bit. Doesn't work miracles, but worth it I think. It's not that heavy as a lot of people think either

i have done several of my cars, and i am a fan of sound deadener. i wouldnt buy dynamat unless ur hung up on the name brand/price. personaly i found stinger roadkill isn a little thicker and high quality, and half the price ifn u shop around, got a bulk pack 36 sq ft for 95 bucks, with free super saver shipping. compared to dynamat, 269 for same square feet. works well, easy to apply.

Same here. Gutted the interior two winters ago and covered every piece of exposed metal. I'm trying to keep the exhaust drone from the inside as it's interfering with my stereo performance. :-\
