Default Power antenna and monsoon amp issue

So I have a JVC KW-R900BT. Problem is that the power antenna is always up. I want it down during CD use. I put a toggle switch to it and it also shuts off the amp. I don't remember having this problem with my last radio, which I also ran a toggle on the antenna. WTF am I doing wrong here?

Did you use the antenna wire are the remote turn on for the amp? If so, then that is why.

There is only one wore to do both. The jvc harness has a blue wire that's listed as both the amp and antenna.

Then you just found your problem. Now it comes to where the switch is tapped. Make sure it is only affecting the antenna and not the amp wire. Did you run a new wire for the amp turn-on or did you tap into the antenna wire in the trunk?

Part of the issue is that I can't find a wire that turns the amp on in the factory wiring harness. All I can find is the antenna wire. But the diagram that came with harness adapter says the antenna wire in the car is the same as the amp turn on.

There is no amp turn-on wire in the factory harness because the Monsoon amp doesn't need one - it uses signal sensing on the audio input side to turn on.

If you have an aftermarket amp then as VIP1 said, you have to make sure you put your switch in the antenna side of the circuit past where it splits to antenna and amp turn-on. Otherwise the switch will kill power to both the antenna and the amp.

Signal turn on, WTF. well that explains why none of the diagrams I find online have a amp turn on, I didn't even think of that. Thanks.
