Default LED Interior Lighting

Ok, so a while back my hvac bulbs burned out, and after a few days of searching for a bulb to fit, I gave up (that and I couldnt figure out how to remove the stock bulbs to save my life). I decided LED's last longer, shine brighter, and best of all, I can change them without having to figure out what size bulb I need. I swapped out my 2 bulbs behind the HVAC for 2 white 5mm led's, and I love it. Now I want to swap the headlight controls bulb's out for LED's. Anybody have a clue how to take this thing apart? Im also considering changing out my instrument cluster to LED's, but word on the street says that LED's are too directional and it wont look good. Any thoughts, ideas?

I agree on them being to directional, you'll have a bright spot behind your SES, etc, instead of an even glow. I installed LED's in the HVAC controls on a Civic, looks nice. I used blue, since the interior theme was already blue. Very nice, even dim and brighten with the dimmer control!

I might look into this in my TA now, but I don't know, I really like the "all red" theme that's there. Maybe if some burn out!

Congrats man, you got pics?

FYI.

Here is where someone did the radio:

I know it doesn't answer your question, but it goes along with the theme of the toipc.

Thanks for the replies...I knew I should have posted my reasoning for putting this in Appearance and detailing. This thread has way more to do with appearance than anything, but whatever mr. moderator. If this thread needs to be moved then move all the LED clear corner light threads. Its the same principle. Ok enough ranting. When I swapped the HVAC to LED's it made them slightly brighter and gave them a much nicer hue as compared to the factory dull white. If you check out the other thread, you can see the difference between his radio and his HVAC controls. Thats the difference. Oh well, Im going to try to take this thing apart on my own. Ill post up results tonight if I get them.

LED is wired up and looking good Couple of things...Im half blind, and apparently getting worse because I could not find the bulb that lights up the headlight controls to save my life. There is a plastic light spreader, but no bulb to be seen. I was extremely lucky in that my stock bulb happened to burn out when I took the thing off, so all I had to do was install the LED.

I had a good idea that the small gray/black wire was what was used to light the bulb, but since I couldnt be sure I just spliced off my HVAC controls and ran the wires under the dash. I placed the LED at the top of the plastic light spreader and it lights everything up pretty well. It now matches my HVAC perfectly I will do my best to get some pics.
