Default Optima Blue Top

Will i experience any problems running this battery?

ONe uy told me the only problem I might have is the 920 crank amps being too much for the stock wiring.

It's amazing what kind of BS some people will spout as facts. The capacity of your battery will have absolutely no effect on your wiring! The battery doesn't push current into the electrical system, the electrical system draws current from the battery as it needs it. Having a higher capacity battery just means that it is capable of delivering current at higher rates (if needed by the system) or for longer periods of time. Your system isn't going to start needing more power just because you have a bigger battery so there will be no effect on your wiring.

Thanks for the reply. I will promptly return this Red Top and buy the Blue Top instead.

Blue-Top is intended for marine use.

Besides, do you really need that capacity? A Red-Top or Yellow-Top should be fine.

I was thinking about the blue top more for appearance, but then again, maybe I'll just get a battery cover.

Exactly right . . . amazing how some people don't understand this, and worse yet spread the bad information.

I believe the blue top and yellow top are the same except for the terminal configuration.

The reason I want such a large capacity battery is that I want to be able to run my inverter on for long periods of time without having to turn the car on.

The red-top should be fine for this, but at 50 bucks more, why not get the blue top?

I wish I could educate the world when it comes to electronic issues. I swear, there are people here that can do a H/C swap or S/C install in an afternoon no problems, yet they haven't a clue when it comes to simple electrical items. I need to start a business or get into this market. They always have a guy doing electrical work in any custom shop (car or bike) and that's basically what I'm doing everyday at work... lol
