Monsoon System Questions
Monsoon System Questions On my TA, I am getting the stereo system back to stock, it came with a huge after market system that I took out, and I am just wanting to get it back to stock.
I was taking out the door speakers, and noticed only one pair of wires for the speaker, yet, there is a hole for a one inch tweet.. how does this work? Was the speaker assembly a entire unit?
I read the monsoon faq, and it said the head unit powers the rear and front tweeters.. if this is the case, I can not find the wires. There are no cut wires in the loom.. just the harness where it clips into the speaker leads.. the people that installed this system that I removed, kept the wiring intact.. did not cut anything.. amp is still there and main power harness in dash..
I can only see the speaker leads that clip into the door 6.5 in.. I am under the impression that since the door tweeter is powered by the HU, there should be another pair of leads coming in for the tweets..
Unless, the one pair of leads goes to a passive crossover, then is split to the tweet and mid... that would make sense, BUT that would mean the amp would be powering BOTH, and the faq would be wrong..

Ok.. yeah.. found the wires for the tweets on both doors..
Looks like they were cut, and the crossover and clip were removed also..
I traced those wires going into the HU harness.. for both tweets on the respective doors...
Look like I need to go to junk yards now, and get what I need..
The custom system did not utilize the hatch mids and tweets, and the wires are there.. so I should be good in that area..
I need Monsoon HU, sail panel DVC drivers, door mids, door tweets and x-overs...
