Default VLEDS Switchback Turn Signal 3157 Flashing Issues

Hello all, I ordered some 6K TYPE 2 DUAL COLOR CHANGING WHITE AMBER SWITCHBACK 42 HIGH POWER LED TURN SIGNAL BULBS 3157 from VLEDS.com & they told me that these lights did NOT require me to change out my flasher to an electronic one because these particular lights have a "built in flasher."

I was wondering if anyone else has had any of these similar issues & what their solution was (e.g., not sure if I should just return them or go buy an electronic flasher & see if it solves the problem)

Specifically, after my install I have had issues with my lights flashing: When:

Lights are off ==> when I apply my turn signal in both directions they flash at a good rate

Parking Lights on ==> Lights stay on amber and when I apply my turn signal they flash at a slower rate & infrequently (as if they hesitate to flash at all)

Regular Lights on ==> they light up white & when I apply the turn signal the signal turns amber and stays solidly lit amber with an infrequent flash (e.g., 1 flash every 30 seconds) or sometimes do not flash at all & amber light stays lit. When I turn off the blinker, the light switches from amber back to white.

Has anyone else had these same issues with the Type 2 Dual Color Changing LEDS (Also, I don't know if this matters at all but I have sequential tail-lights in the rear of the car).

Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated.

I think they were referring to how it switches between white and amber when they said you didn't need a different flasher.

These cars came stock with a thermal flasher which doesn't work with LEDs because they don't draw enough current. Replace the flasher with an electronic one and your flashing problems should go away. There are two flashers. One for turn signals and one for hazards. Change both.

VIP1,

Thanks for the help. I guess there was either a mis-understanding on my end or a mis-communication with the representative @ VLEDS regarding the lights being "plug & play."

UPDATE: I went to AutoZone & purchased & installed the EL12 Flasher & they worked great! I only needed to install the flasher for the turn signals because the original flasher for the hazards seemed to work just fine.

Glad you fixed it. I have the same thing but I have 5k bulbs. You wouldn't want to trade would you haha? If you want your running lights to be white instead of orange when you are driving and whatnot you just have to disable the running light feature. It's a box behind the radio.
