Default Look! It's another power antenna question

Ok so I took apart my power antenna and mast to replace the mast because it was broken internally. I had to drill out the mounting tabs on the mast take up portion to get out the rest of the plastic mast part. I went to put it back in the car and the first time I put it in full retracted figuring that connecting the power would and cycling it through radio on/off would have me golden. Well this didn't work. So then I tried with the antenna extended then connected the power. When I turned the car on it whirred for a second and nothing. Then I tried with the antenna almost all the way up and when when I cycled the car it went the opposite way it should go. Ie, car off antenna goes up, car on antenna goes down. I'm lost. Anyone have any ideas?
