145 amp alternator installation problems
I have a 94 t/a with a ls3 I just installed into it. I had a stock alternator on in, but while doing extended idling, voltage would fall under 13 volts. I did research, and saw alot of people were going with a 145 amp alternator. I went to NAPA and got a 145 amp alternator from a 03 Escalade. Bolts in fine, but the terminal post on the back of the alternator is almost directly in front of the return line from the power steering rack. There is only about a inch and a half from the terminal of the alternator and the port on the steering rack for the low pressure line. I cannot bend the line that much to clear it without putting a serious kink in the line. Can anybody offer any ideas on how to make this work?

I have 2 12w6v3 hooked to JL 1200/1 mono, component Hertz Hi Energy front; Hertz coaxial in rears hooked to JL 600/4 amp and my system drained the alternator down to about 9 every time I had the base **** up high and loud. I bought the same 200AMP I'm selling but the 250AMP version and now my volt needle doesn't move at all.
My amp is in the parts for sale section of this forum. check it out and let me know
Otherwise I don't know if weight is a issue for you but a d3100 battery will help a ton and so will the big 3 (0 gauge replacement for your factory power and grounds)
I would do the big 3 first and go from there. any battery you add is going to help. A huge alt is only a want after that unless you plan to run 3500+ watts. Do all 3 of these things and your car should be good for 5k+ watts. Overkill tho if your running a hifonics 2000watt amp
