Kee Audio Replacement Speakers Help?
I need some help. I'm currently trying to purchase a gift for my boyfriend for his 2000 Camaro z28. I found Kee Audio a while back and thought it was time to get him a replacement set since all but one of his stock Monsoon speakers have finally given out. I've done a lot of research on them, and they seem extremely reputable and I haven't really seen any negative reviews. That being said, I needed some help with the technical aspect of purchasing the gift. Like what is the difference between the basic speaker set versus the premium set? I have no knowledge what so ever about cars, so surprising him is going to be really difficult if I goof up and buy the wrong thing...
Um about the audio stuff that's in there, he has a different radio tuner if that means anything. Also he use to have this box with "speakers" in the hatchback, was that subs? Or an amp? Do I need to purchase another one as well?
What about the speakers themself? What is the difference between the levels?
Any help and knowledge on which speakers to buy would be great. Thanks in advance, and I'm sorry if I sound extremely dumb and clueless
[/QUOTE] He'll walk you through the ordering process and help you order what you need without trying to upsell you. He actually convinced me to order a LOWER package that what I originally ordered, and I couldn't be happier.
You can also get some good opinions here - but first we need some info about the car. We know that it has an aftermarket radio from your post above. If you look inside of the driver's door, when you open it, there should be a bunch of three letter factory codes printed on a sticker. Do you see any of these printed on the tag:
UZ7
U59
UL0
UN0
^ This will help us know what system the car came with from the factory.
One wild card here - since your husband has a modified car, the plug-and-play options that Kee and any others offer, might not work out. (Depending if other components of the stock audio system have been modified.)

Sorry, should have mentioned that the "Ian" I was referring to was Ian Kee of Kee Audio.
The first thing I would do is check in the back by the spare tire to see if there is a monsoon amp in there.
