Default looking for speakers to match my head unit

I have a pioneer DEH-X8500BH, it has a rating of 22X4 watts RMS/ 50X4 peak. I'm looking for a set of 6.5" that will match nicely. Not very good at stereo stuff so forgive my ignorance please.

I'm thinking the pioneer TS-A1675R, they are cheap but better than stock. The TS-A1605C look good too but I don't want to overkill.

first off don't try to match speakers to the headunit, thats just not how you do it. What car is this going into and which position in the car? If it's going in the Trans Am in your sig your NOT gonna want to run the speakers in your second post as they are the wrong style of speaker for ANY location in that car.

yea, it's for the trans am. I just want ones that will replace the stock ones in the stock location and work good with my head unit.

well your front doors are a 6.5 component (separate tweeter) set, the sails are a dual voice coil 6.5 "sub" and the rears are like a 4" or something, check out http://keeaudio.com/fbodyspeakers.html for speaker packages that are appropriate for your application.

I know what sizes I need I just want basic replacement speakers that are a little better than stock but not overkill. I'll just take my chances with the pioneers then. Thanks.

I pointed you to Kee Audio to see the proper "style" of speakers you NEED for each location, there is NO reason to get a 3-way coaxial speaker (which is what the TS-A1675R are) for the front doors, of the 2 models you listed the second model (TS-A1605C) is a COMPONENT set which is the PROPER type of speaker for the doors, you would put them in hooking up the tweeter in place of the stock tweeter and the 6.5 in place of the stock one and NOT use the crossover that comes with them as this is done by the monsoon amp.

It's not about "overkill" it's about the RIGHT TYPE OF SPEAKER.

also you didn't say which speakers you planned to replace, this is important because you need the right TYPE of speaker in the right locations, like installing the TS-A1675R in the sails would be a waste of time since the monsoon amp only sends a low range signal to those locations.

Get a amp and some nice components and you will be much happier than running speakers off a hu
