Default Will this alternator work?

I have a 2000 Trans Am. This alternator is from my old suburban. It is a 300amp excessive amperage. It has the right connector. The suburban had 1 wire going to it.

get us a pic of the side profile of the alternator on the AD244's the front and back casings are separated by a black piece that is part of the stator, where the earlier generation alts like what came factory on these cars, the CS130D, have the front and rear casings of the alt touching.

I will grab a picture when I get home, but it does have the black seperation between the casings.

sure looks like an AD244, should work. you'll only be able to use 2 mounting points, the 4-prong plug is the same plug, since it's a high power alt I would suggest also doing the "big 3" wire upgrade with 1/0 wire. there are several threads on swapping to an AD244 alt with the LS1 on here.

Thanks. I had searched the forums and was pretty sure it would fit, but wanted a 2nd opinion. Yeah big 3 is a must. Also adding a 2nd battery. My sub amp is 3k rms. Have to have stout electrical.
