OBD2 Port Issues Hey guys, I've got a weird one on my hands. I've been running Torque on my Android device via a bluetooth OBD2 adapter and it's been working fine for years. All of a sudden a couple of months ago the bluetooth would not sync up with my phone. I though it was the adapter but after trying 4 other's that are verified to work on other cars (including a 2k Camaro) it still didnt work. I grabbed an adapter that had power, comm, and obd2 indicator lights and I'm only seeing the power light come on.
So I've hooked up 5 different hardwired scanners and they work just fine, power up, read codes, clear codes. When I went to a buddy's shop yesterday to have the car inspected they hooked it up to the inspection machine via they're wireless device and it again had no comm, hell this one didnt even show power. We've used meters and test lights and I'm getting a good 12v constant power and 2 good grounds and good comm so I'm alittle curious as to why wireless devices are not working.
Anyone seen this before? I'll be double checking the wires at the ECM and the OBD2 port tonight but wanted to see if there was any helpful advice.

First thing to check is that the connections aren't just loose. The terminals lose their tension over time which can cause some devices to make good contact while others will have intermittent or no contact on some or all of the pins. Often you can bend them slightly to make better contact.

UPDATE: well no luck once again getting a wireless device to work on the car. I inspected the pins on the OBD2 port and they look good, no real signs of wear or being loose. I swabbed them down with isopropyl alcohol and waited an hour to dry just in case, still no go. I went ahead and went to have the car inspected and asked the shop to hook it up to the computer first (hard wired) and sure enough it worked just fine and passed inspection (
