As far as the harness, the Metra one basically matches up with the Android one. Both have color codes on instructions so just verify them to make sure. Should be a super simple install, don't forget about the antenna adapter if you don't already have one.

Where did you camaro guys place the gps antenna? Finally got around to installing but have to still trim bezel and found a place mount microphone. Did a test on the unit and so far everything good so far

I have a Firebird instead of a Camaro, but where I mounted my GPS antenna would work for Camaros as well.
My GPS antenna is hidden under the dash.
(That is WhiteBird00's car with a Sirius antenna.)

I did that years ago. Given the age of these cars, the plastic dash cover has become brittle in some cars so be careful. I didn't remove my cover to install my GPS antenna; I only lifted it enough to maneuver the antenna into place.

For an alternative location I have my GPS mounted on top of the trans tunnel on the C5. I was concerned about the location, but even with the HVAC, headunit, etc above it it still gets a great signal. I can't tell any difference there versus under the plastic dash cover.
Freaking Rocket Player App keeps freezing up. Anyone have a set up with their unit that's working fine? Also having memory issues as far as app updates go. Tried running them on external storage. Some apps you just cant

Verdad Gallardo I'll try that instead of rocket player. Did you ever have issues with memory? I cleared it up a bit by deleting apps I really didn't use need or want. But some of the basic ones like Google Maps take up a ton of space

On the newer Joying unit I have in the C5, I made sure to find one with 32gb internal (old one had 16gb) and not more issues.
One thing you could do is run apps from the microSD slot. I'm not entirely sure how to do it, but remember doing it several years ago on cell phones due to internal limitations. I believe it was app2SD or something. You did need to be rooted, but that's an easy task on Joying units.
so for nice, clear, un-distorted music at high volumes (with high quality amps & speakers of course) does this unit do the job? i'm not talking 600-1000 head unit audiophile sound, but nice crisp someone who enjoys music & wants to turn it up without distorting sound ...???

Just used a RCA y-adapter to hook it up. Can find these about every where, just need to make sure 2 female in and 1 male out.
Ive been playing with mine a bit lately and Im guessing the Led app doesnt work on mine cause the LED's are blue. Only thing I dislike about mine. which I could make them white or red. I mean I could if I wanted to take it apart and fiddle I suppose.

I changed my old one in WS6 to white buttons to match rest of my gauges. The new one in the C5 I made blue. The color change was definitely on my must have list for both, nothing is worse than having odd colors that don't match.
correct, the app the works but leds dont change. Im assuming they are fixed color leds ive had if for a few years now so cant exchange though I have thought about swapping and putting it in the bird and dealing the leds at that point.

In my CGM GTO, I changed out the cluster faces to the OEM gray ones, as well as the steering wheel and shift boot so I could have gray stitching and it all matched. I hated the green as well, I had white back lighting and the LCDs were blue. I also swapped the A4 console for a M6 console so I didn't have a gear indicator by shifter and IMO I think it looked better too.
yeah i know there is a guy that will do the color change for you, ive debated sending them to him over the holidays when I want be driving as much. I want to get a newer...steeing wheel as well im teh third owner and the factory wheel hasnt held up very well or wasnt as maintained as it could have been.
OK I bought the "Y" to split the single sub out to the 2 left and right rca's to the amp and it completely killed the bass. With the one sub working it sounded pretty good but when i split the sub out to the amp so both are powered i have very little bass. I turned the sub all the way up in the EQ and it helped very little. Also is anyone having Bluetooth problems? Mine cuts in and out and will drop off completely, sounds like a broken record lol. Tried putting my music on a micro SD card and the radio will never "see" it even after i formatted it to fat32. Not sure what to do on the subs, sucks having 2 in the back and only one can work.
