Accessory feature shorting out??
Accessory feature shorting out?? Okay, bear with me guys while I try to explain this issue. 4th gen F-body (2000 SS) has an accessory feature on the ignition that allows the stereo and electric windows to continue to operate after the car has been shut off until the door is opened (or +/- 5 min has elapsed). The problem I'm having is that this accessory feature seems to have a short in it that causes my stereo and electric windows to randomly be inoperable WHILE the car is still running. I'm assuming it's a short because it can be caused by a bump in the road, and I can get it back by smacking the top of my dash above the stereo. Has anyone else ever experienced this? And, does anyone know how to fix this?

Thanks for that! Yeah, I've been scouring YouTube and I found similar postings and videos. Camaros, Escalades, etc. Same issue, same solder joint on the back of the BCM. I guess I know what I'm doing on my next day off. 😑
