Pioneer and Kenwood seem to be the brands of choice these days. Alpine, Sony and JVC are good brands but far less popular. For individual models, your choice is going to depend on your budget and what features you consider must-have and nice-to-have.

The 4200 is a good, solid radio. the only complaint I have about them is that on some cars, the dash/dash kit require modification for the motorized face to work.

Just a little input from personal experience, I recently upgraded my radio and I went with the JVC-V820BT (http://mobile.jvc.com/multimedia/kw-v820bt/index.html). I read hundreds of reviews on several radios and decided on that one. Its been in for about a month now and I've had no problems and I love it. It had the most options for a better price than most. Just go on Crutchfield.com and compare what you're looking for.

I installed mine last week (kenwood DDX9703s), got the fbody bezel off of ebay from "custom install parts" guy. I wasnt very impressed with the bezel kit, the stock hu has a rear support to distribute the weight. With this kit all the weight of the new hu is directly on the flimsy plastic front clips. The bezel itself fit very well and looks stock. Im just worried when i dukes and hazard jump it the hu will dislodge itself. The kenwood is bad to the bone, android auto and apple car play utilizes the navigation on your phone instead of paying about an extra 400 for the inunit navigation.

I installed the Bluetooth microphone in the middle A/C vent to hide it. The DDX9703s is front and rear view camera compatible, i got the Esky EC170-09 licence plate frame with night vision camera for the rear view (which i was impressed with for a 420 resolution) and the Esky EC170-06 for front view. Its the smallest camera i could find with out the guidance/distance lines built in, i mounted it with the rearview mirror screw. All and all i was impressed with most of the components and id rate the install a 4 out of 10. Let me know if you have any questions.

Not news... they've been making those bezels for about three years now. But they aren't textured or color-matched so there is still a place for the more expensive (but exact match) bezels. If you want to take the time, you can get a Metra bezel then paint to match and add texture yourself to save some money. It's always good to have choices.

I have the Metra Bezel. It isn't perfect, but it is close enough and certainly cheaper.

Did you have to do anything to get the speakers to work with the aftermarket unit. Im wanting to install and double din and all new speakers and buypass the monsoon amp. Not sure how to go about it.

Installing a double DIN aftermarket head unit is no different (electrically) from installing any other head unit. Get a wiring adapter harness and an antenna adapter along with your trim bezel then just wire the adapter harness to the new HU and it all plugs in to the factory wiring.

However, unless you plan to change the types of speakers used (i.e. something other than subs in the sail panels or components in the doors) or add an aftermarket amp to the setup, bypassing the Monsoon amp is just dumb. Why give up the extra power provided by the amp just to run everything directly from the head unit?
