Default 1999 Trans Am BCM??????

So today out of the blue the power windows, radio, and convertible top stopped working. Came across the issue being the BCM. Pulled it out, jiggled the wires, got it to work again for a sec and then stopped again. Pulled the unit out and noticed this

that the issue?

That's your culprit. Do some searches for Retained Accessory Power (RAP) circuit repair on here, I believe there are some tutorials on here somewhere.

Watched a bunch of videos on YouTube of this exact same problem on how to repair it (solder). Seems simple enough.

Best case: fix it and don’t have to worry about a shop doing it

worst case: take it to a shop and have them repair it (“new” board, which is what would be done anyways)

Touch a soldering iron to that spot to melt the solder and lift the iron slowly to recover the contact as cleanly as possible. It's scary but incredibly easy to fix.

So just melt the solder already on there instead of adding more??

It worked! Melted solder already there and added a little more and poof! Works like nothing ever happened. Cheap $10 Wal-Mart soldering iron saved me hundreds!!!

TBH, i was really ticked off when it happened all of a sudden. Saw the sticky here on the forum and watched a few YouTube videos and did the easy repair. Wealth of info here.
