I have a 98 Firebird. I went to back out of my driveway a few days ago, and as soon as I put it in drive, the car shutoff and I haven't been able to get it to start since. I have a Viper 5701 alarm/remote start installed from Best Buy for a few years. Since the install, the security light has been on constantly but hasn't given me any problems. Now every time I try to start it, the security light just stays on and doesn't even try to turn over. I read about doing the VATS bypass, but when I opened up the dash today, my setup looks a little more complicated than others. I just want to get my car running again and Best Buy isn't taking appointments because of the 'Rona. Anyone have any idea what I can do? I have no idea what this other orange, yellow, and brown wire do and if the Best Buy guy tried doing his own version of the bypass a few years ago. I'm gettin desperate! Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.
That looks like a whole lot of fuckery, to be honest. I think the BBY installer had no idea what he was doing. If that orange wire is going back to the brain of the remote start, that is your accessory output from the remote start, which should be tied to an orange or brown wire coming off of your ignition switch. All of that wiring explains why the security light is always on, as the bypass was done completely incorrectly. Where are you located? I may be able to point you in the direction of some skilled labor that can un-bugger that.
On a completely unrelated note, where did you get that gas pedal? I've been searching for a not crazy expensive set of pedals for my Z28.

I’m in southeast Michigan. And I honestly can’t remember where I got that pedal. I’ve been meaning to take it off and just go back to stock. I think I still have the matching brake pedal too.
