Update: I pulled the passenger side trim off [side note: there's one screw by the passengers seat where you cant fit a screwdriver in - a lot of cursing happened]
I spotted some corrosion on c220 so I pulled C220 and C230 apart and sprayed some deoxit on it and put them together a couple of times.
All gauges now work expect for fuel level.
Going to see if I can get a scanner on this weekend, and maybe check those connectors again (since the fuel sending wires also use these connectors)
For future reference, to reduce frustration with that one screw next to the seat, this pair of screwdrivers ($6 for the pair) will do the job:

I've used regular sized screwdrivers on that screw before. Move the passenger seat all the way forward and if you angle the screwdriver just right, it will work, just take care not to strip the screw head.
