Default Any suggestions for a higher end setup?

Car is an '01 SS Camaro convertible. Unfortunately I probably have the worst platform for the 4th gens to start with, but I'd like to put together something substantially better than stock. My audio experience is limited, probably my weakest link with these cars, but I'm not looking at the best setup on a budget. I listen to a broad range of music, not really one particular genre I stick with, so the ideal system would be well balanced. I'm 1000% open to any recommendations on amplifier, door speakers, mid speakers, tweeters (and tweeter mounting ideas) and more. Hell, I'll even take suggestions for wiring. The car is currently stripped apart, when I remove the dash I plan to properly sound deaden the interior, including the firewall, and will replace all stereo wiring while I'm at that point. I normally hate being so vague with my request, but this is where I'm at I used to have the Kee Audio Level 3 package in my 'Bird a few years back (however no amp), and while I really liked it and found it substantially better than stock, I'd like to do something beyond that setup this time around, so to speak.

Appreciate your time!

I think you really missed out not having a more powerful amp for the Kee Audio level 3 package. I would do basic 2 way separates in the front, nothing in the back and a 10 inch sub in a stealth box. something like 100w x 2 and 500w x 1 for the amps. Do a lot of sound deadening and some Fast rings for the front speakers. Get a nice head unit to control crossovers and do time alignment and your EQ and you're set.

Something like so

CDT Audio CL-61CV.2 @ 2 Ohms on a Rockford R2 200x2
Image Dynamics IDQ10 D4 @ 2 Ohms on a Rockford R2 500x1

I definitely don't think I used the system to its full potential, no doubt about that, and I'm not necessarily ruling out Ian's packages, just wanting to explore if there's an opinion on anything that goes even beyond that. Why, do you suggest nothing in the back however? I'm limited on speaker options with a vert vs a coupe to begin with, so eliminating the rear speakers doesn't seem like a great idea unless there's a reason I'm not seeing?

The ID sub looks very solid, I will make a note of that one for sure. The headunit doesn't look bad, but I'm pretty set on a double din unit. Too hard to go back to the old style single din stereos after getting used to a nice big screen in my daily

...typically, in the 4th Gen F-Body, unless you have DSP, the back seat speakers are eliminated, or mid-bass only to keep the soundstage on the dash.

I’m running a good set components up front, my back seat speakers are actually x-over at 300 Hz and below just for mid bass because my sub is x-over at 50 Hz.

Well there is other great options of course for speakers. I like the Rockford Power Series components. ESB Audio also makes great speakers though they are pricey, same can be said for Hybrid Audio and Illusion Audio. All 3 of them make exceptional speakers. Hybrid Audio and Illusion audio also make really good subwoofers.
