Security light on
ok i have a 2000 SS Camaro, I have 2 things going on, one the radio has power all the time, it does not shut off when you open the door when the car is turned off.
the major issue the car has is that when I turn the car off get out close the door the security light stays on and when I hit the key fob, if the horn beeps the car seem to be fine if it doesnt beep the alarm door chime will start beeping and it will drain the battery down rather quickly and the security light is on the dash,
if i start the car the light goes out after like 30 sec of driving.
i have heard its possibly the door switch?
i have hears VATS
also BCM,,any direction is greatly appreciated

VATS is in the BCM, so that's why you would have heard both terms related to the security light. You could have two separate problems, or the door could be the cause, or it is unlikely but possible that the BCM is bad. I would look at the door first.
Does the radio turn off when you open the passenger's door? That would be a solid clue that the problem is in the driver's door switch. The comment that the security light "stays on" concerns me... the security light should never be on except when starting the car. If it's on at other times then you have a VATS problem and you're lucky to be able to start the car.
Unlike most older cars, the door ajar signal is not generated by a pin switch in the door jamb which gets pushed in when the door closes. Instead, the switch is part of the door latch mechanism. There is a slight amount of adjustment available in the mounting bolts and that may be all that's needed to fix the problem. It wouldn't hurt to clean out any built-up grime in the latch mechanism as well.
