Default Dead Speedometer

So my battery died for good, never to live again. Popped a new one in, and now my speedo has checked out. All of the other gauges are fine, no bad fuses. Thoughts?

I'd pull the cover off and try tapping it and see if it starts working

See if you can read speed from the ecm via the obd. If you can the problem is the gauge or wiring between - the cross car harness. If the ecm doesnt have speed readings the speed sensor or wiring between it and the ecm.
