cant push on airbag to activate the horn
I bought a 98 trans am convertible that I swapped out the steering wheel with one from a 2000 trans am as its was pretty haggard.
I retained the airbag from the 98 as I know that the 98 airbag/clock spring and module are unique to that year.
After this swap though there is no spring action between the airbag and the wheel to enable me to push it down and activate the horn.
I know the horn works fine and if I remove the air bag and push down on the terminals it honks.
Does anybody know if the design of the wheel to airbag changed during model years that would make it so a 98 airbag can't work with a 2000 wheel?
Any ideas would be most appreciated as I can't figure this out so far.
