Default 98 z28 side mirror issues

1998 camaro z28. drivers side mirror doesn’t adjust with **** on door. so I hooked the drivers side mirror up to the passenger side connector, to see if it’s the mirror motor is the problem. and it did not work just like when it was hooked up on correct side. So I hooked my passenger side mirror back up to the correct side. The passenger side has always worked flawlessly. So I go to test it just to ensure it still works and nothing happens. I don’t see any issues with wiring and nothing changed besides I plugged the drives side into passenger. so why would it just stop working like this? (Sorry about punctuation I’m very bad at reading/writing)

Please edit your post and give us some punctuation. Without proper sentences, it's hard to understand what you did when.

Ok so I found a blow fuse that made the passenger side mirror work again. And I have ruled out the motor for the drivers side mirror as the issue. I’m not sure how to test the switch so if somebody could help me with that it would be greatly appreciated.

Diagnosing the switch would be easier if you have a Power Probe or similar powered test system but there are ways to improvise. Get a couple of those inline fuse holders with about six inches of wire coming from each end of the fuse holder (available at any auto parts store or even Walmart). Use some solder to tin the ends of the wires so that they become like probes (you don't want stray ends of stranded wire cross-circuiting or short-circuiting while you're testing). These inline fuse holders will be used as jumper wires to test the circuits with the switch unplugged. You use fuse holders rather than plain wire because the fuse will prevent damaging anything should you accidently short power to ground while testing.

You're going to manually complete the circuits using the two jumpers you've created. You do this in the harness connector with the switch unplugged. The connector sockets are referred to as A through H but I'll give you the wire colors coming out of the other side of the connector to make it easier to match.
  1. Connect one jumper between the light blue socket and the black socket. Connect one end of the other jumper to the orange socket and then just touch the other end to the white socket. The left mirror should move to the left.
  2. Leave the previous connections and this time touch the free end of your second jumper to the yellow socket. The left mirror should move up.
With a Power Probe, you plug it into your power source (lighter socket for interior use or battery terminals for under the hood) then insert the alligator clip into the ground connector (light blue wire), touch the probe end to the white or yellow connector you're testing and press the button to test.

If both of these tests produce the desired result then you know that mirror motors are working and that the switch is the problem. You know it has to be the switch and not the wiring because the testing process has eliminated only the switch and uses all of the factory wiring.
