Default Sequential tail lights with LEDs?

Before I buy three pairs of 3157
led equivalent bulbs , I just want to check I will have no issues since I have sequential tail lights too? I do have LED flashers. Thank you in advance.

It will probably depend on which sequential kit you used. I had the WebElectric Products universal kit (they didn't have the Firebird specific version at the time) and it worked well with LED bulbs, but I can't vouch for other sequential kits.

Excellent, that's exactly the kit I have. If nobody told you today you are the best. Your wealth of knowledge totally helped me with my lighting headaches.

Yes, assuming that you replaced the factory single filament outboard bulbs with 3157 when you installed the sequential kit (that's the usual installation, but technically you could use any dual filament bulb such as 1157 or 7443).

I never saw that statement and just went ahead and installed LED bulbs without any problems using their universal sequential kit. I guess I should have read their website more closely at the time and it could be that I was just lucky that it worked. I remember buying at least six different flashers before I finally found one that had the right speed... adjustable flashers weren't common at the time and manually adjusting speed involved opening the flasher and playing with the components inside.

The current version's listing specifically says that it works with LEDs or standard incandescent bulbs. I suspect that has been the case since the module was upgraded to automatically adjust the sequencing speed based on the flasher speed (that update came out several years ago).

Just FYI, the difference between the original universal kit and the relatively new Firebird kit is in how you connect the outboard bulb. The Firebird kit uses the existing outboard bulb and dims/brightens the single filament as needed. You might want to consider using a 2825 bulb instead of the stock 194 because it's twice as bright, so it will be a closer match to the other bulbs.

With the universal kit, you have to get a dual filament socket like a 3157 from your local parts store and then dremel the socket opening in the lens housing to get it to fit. The advantage is that all three bulbs on each side will match in brightness.

Does anyone have the kit number they bought to do the sequential? I am looking to do this on my Camaro but have been stumped on the kit to start with. Looks like the bulbs above were figured out!

Thanks for the OP!

If you're talking about the 2000 Camaro in your signature, there isn't one because it has a single amber turn signal on each side leaving nothing to sequence.

Right. Unless I switch over to the LT1's where they are red and white.

I can't remember from my '95 Z28... does the LT1 style tail light have an outside marker bulb and two brake/turn signal bulbs? Or does it only have the two brake/turn signal bulbs? If it has the outside marker marker bulb then the Firebird kit should work very nicely (again, you might want to get a brighter bulb for the outside socket). If not, the sequencing can be done with just two bulbs - they describe how on their web site - but it doesn't look nearly as good as with three or more - the Challenger kit handles four bulbs and looks awesome in use.

Is there a go-to or quality adjustable flasher? I do have an adjustable LED flasher but it's still too fast.

The 3157's fit without a problem. Here is a link to the finished product. You can clearly see the difference from the driver side to the passenger side. Here are a couple of links. The park lights look like brake lights now.

Those LED look much brighter, I might have to swap mine out soon. Did you ever find a different flasher to slow down the turns?

The web-electronic kit is awesome, but It would be nice to slow them down a little.
