Default is it possible to mount a 4" speaker in the dash?

hey, i had an idea that i think would improve my imaging as well as make the volume louder without having to turn my stereo up more..... would it be possible to cut holes in a flat part of the dash and mount a 4 inch coaxial speaker in the dash and then use the speaker grilles provided? the mounting depth on the speakers isnt over 2 inches, so that and the flat part of the dash are my only concern, what do ya think?

You could mount one in the defroster vent recess. Just make a baffle to deflect the air around the speaker. Depth may be somewhat of a concernn though. Pop off the panel and check it out.
