Default Radio removal?

This may be a dumb question.
I'm planning on replacing my factory radio with aftermarket headunit.
Can I drive the car without the factory radio in/plugged up? I wouldn't think that's an issue but just wanted to check. From what I can tell my theft lock is not activated.

My plan is to get all my wires ran and in place (microphone, GPS sensor, USB-C wire and get the new radio fitted with dash kit ect. Mounted up so all we have to do is wire it in once I drive to his place.

Any issues with driving without radio plugged in? Thanks!

There will be no issues driving without the radio. Unlike more modern cars which have a whole bunch of extra electronics in the head unit (security system, warning chimes, even some functions which are in our separate BCM module), the radio in 4th generation f-bodies is just a radio so the car won't miss it at all.
