New speakers, adding sub
Hello all, I’m replacing my factory speakers all around in my 2002 trans am hatch with monsoon system 10speaker. During my replacement I want to add a subwoofer, I want to make sure I have the correct understanding of setup so I don’t mess up my factory system.
I will be using a line converter to pickup the signal from existing speakers, is it best to actually wire the converter from the rear seat speakers or the ones in the hatch ?
The converter will go to a separate amp im also adding only to power the subwoofer, this amp I will wire power from battery. Was a lot of info in the sticky just wanna make sure I understood it

Actually, assuming you're keeping most of the Monsoon setup and just replacing speakers, it would be best to splice your LOC into the Monsoon amp input wires for one of the rear channels. There are two reasons for this - you're starting with lower power so there's less likelihood of distortion and you're using unfiltered audio signal (the output of the amp to the speakers is filtered in variable ways depending on speaker location).

So I want to match up my LOC with the rear inputs on the amp, also my LOC has 2 ground wires can they share the same ground ?

There is no need to run your ground all the way to the battery... assuming your amp is not under the hood
. Any solid chassis/body ground that is convenient to the amp location is quite sufficient.
