Default Would these Ampire Bold6 subs fit in a Firebird with Monsoon?

The sail panels subs are blown up in my newly acquired 2001 TA. After checking the FAQ and reading threads about the Monsoon system, I decided to keep the original amp, replace all the speakers and add a 10"sub + amp. There is already a good head unit installed by the previous owner. I found some great deals for everything locally except the sail panel subs as they aren't the most common type of speaker.

I'm leaning towards these Ampire Bold6

They seem to have nice specs and good reviews without being too expensive, although I'm not 100% sure they would fit. I tried to research the max mounting depth and some say it's around 3", but I noticed that Kee Audio are selling the CDT ES-06+DVC that are 3.37" deep. The Ampire Bold6 are 3.14". Obviously I could remove a speaker to measure but my laziness made me ask here first And maybe someone will point out something that I overlooked in the specs

I seem to remember that Kee's site listed those deep subs being mounted using a spacer. If you don't mind incorporating a spacer in your installation then you can certainly make them work. However, if you are in North America, you might consider buying the Bazooka subs from Kee Audio that are so popular with members here. They're close to the same price when you convert from euros and the shipping cost would likely be much less.

Thanks, that makes sense, it seems like there's enough space between the frame and the factory grille to add a spacer. I'm in Switzerland ( just added my location as it can be relevant ) so I'm looking at this model for the reasons you mentioned, I could get them shipped for free, ending up at $160 for the pair. However, I just came across the Audio System CO 06 DC EVO. They're cheaper at $100/pair with higher efficiency, advertised at 86.6dB with almost twice the X-Max and they're only 2mm deeper. They handle less power but It seems like they would be a better fit for the Monsoon amp

In my recent venture with Kee Audio he let me know that he can't get the bazooka subs any more. Never hurts to ask however. I used instead the CDT 6.5" subs with a single 12" sub in the rear well. Hits decent enough considering my 89 Camaro had two 18"s in it. Technological speaker advancements and a hella lot more wattage than what I had back in 1990.
