CD player giving "Err" message

CD player giving "Err" message When I put a CD in my factory CD player, it spits it back out with an "Err" message displayed.
Where can I take this to get it fixed?
Or is this a common problem?
Any help appreciated.

Sounds like a reader error.
Here are some questions for you:
* was the disk scratched or dirty?
* does this happen with all discs (store bought-- diff. brands vs burned -- diff. brands)?
* does this always happen or only when its cold/hot (outside, radio, cd - temps)?
Try a cd player cleaning kit. If you still get this error, I dont know where you can get it fixed. If the car is still under warranty, get it replaced.
I'm on my third Monsoon headunit now (display keeps dieing <sp?>).

I had the same thing happen and had it reflashed at the dealer under warranty. It worked again for a while and then the error came back. I decided just to buy a new sony stereo which I love. The OE ones are way too temporamental. Skips at times, acts crazy on hot days and has trouble reading cds when its cold.

It doesn't like your music selection and is trying to tell you something. Oh and BTW the correct spelling is DYING, but you were damn close. Sounds like a problem with your reader though, dusty/dirty, try compressed air too if it's available.

Exactly, different meanings and spelling but sounding the same. I think that's called a homonym...it's great having a 9 year old, you relearn all the crap you forgot from long ago.

I meant the type in a can not just a shop hose. Just thought I would clarify, I don't think the cleaning disc would help too much since it needs to spin to work and if the reader isn't reading it will stop altogether.
