Day Time Running Light problem! Hey guys. I have a 99 TA WS6 and my right DTRL is driving me crazy. Both the DTRL's are on during the day and when my fog/tail lights are on, but as soon as I turn on my headlights the right DTRL goes out while the left one stays on. It still blinks when I signal a turn, but stays off until I turn off the headlights. I've changed the bulb and cleaned out the socket with no luck, what should I do?

If you've already replaced the bulb then you will need to start tracking down the problem in the parking light circuit. The symptoms you describe are exactly what will happen when the parking light (dim) filament on the bulb is burned out or is not receiving power. The DRLs and turn signals use the bright filament on the bulbs. They are on when the headlights are off or when only the parking lights (and fogs) are on. When you turn on the headlights the front lights switch to the dimmer parking light filament.
If you're sure it's not the bulb, check that you have power (12V+) in the brown wire at the socket. If so, then it's either the bulb or the socket. If not, you'll need to trace back the wire to find the break. Luckily, since the other side works, you'll only have to go back to where the the left and right circuits split. This is in the front harness about 6 inches from where the windshield washer pump wires split out.

Check the ground, the high headlight current may be elevating
the local harness ground voltage across ground - body resistance
and starving the DRL. Follow the ground wire back to where it
is screwed down to chassis sheet metal, wire-brush the eye-
connector and the screw and the sheet metal and retighten.
