New MP3 changers

New MP3 changers I saw on cnet.com there are a couple of new MP3
changers by Alpine and Kenwood - the kind that play
CD-R discs of .mp3 files, not the hard drive based
music keg type of deal. But nothing in the product
descriptions of anti-skip features, whether they are
compatible with GM head units (I want to keep my
stock Monsoon and the steering wheel controls).
Any early adopters tried either of these out? I have
written off the Sony Xplod MP3 changed on account
of its poor skip performance.
I wouldn't rule out a hard-drive based unit if it had
(say) >5GB capacity and anti-skip and worked with
OEM harness / controls but I don't think there are
any (?)

I'm not sure about their new units, but I have a Kenwood in-dash mp3 player that is a single disc model and I have never had it skip on me. I'm also using the factory steering wheel controls, but I had to install a PAC SWI-X for that to happen.
