2004 Chevy LD 2500 WT (AFTER MARKET ?)
I recently purchased a 2004 Chevy Silverado 2500HD... This is a bare bones work truck with vinyl flooring and am/fm stereo... I had no issue with the am/fm stereo since I had planned on installing an aftermarket cd/system...
Well after all said and done I was told that the newer GM vehicles have 'everything' integrated thru the stereo and that an aftermarket stereo could not be installed... Upon further investigation I was told they could 'relocate' the factory stereo under the seat (for $900) and then could integrate an aftermarket...
Checked a few more places and have heard an aftermarket is not a problem... I checked the GM and am waiting a call back...
Was also advised to post on here and see if anyone had any input...
Please post reply if you can help...
Thnx

You don't need to re-locate on a 04 silvy. Yank it out and put your aftermarket in. Pac makes an interface that will let you connect the aftermarket deck to your factory harness so you can still use your factory speakers if you choose to.
