Escort 8500 is a really nice detector, works really good, just couldnt bring myself to spend an extra hundred bucks for V1.

V1 or nothing - you'll never regret it.

I have the 8500 X50 in my SS, and I have the V1 in my T/A.

Both are really good, but I do like the V1 better. It can tell you which way the radar source is coming from and how many signals there are.

Price was kind of close for me. $399 for the V1, $330 for the 8500 X50 (blue LED model) AND then I had to buy a hard-wire from Uniden for $10 = $340 for the 8500 X50 (for me).

The thing I like about the 8500 X50 is that it has a better filter, and thats about it.

Peace,
Craig.

Just put my Escort 7500 on ebay (if anyone's interested), and placed my order for a Valentine One.

Averaged 90mph in my truck for three hours on m way back from a ranch. This was all thanks to my V1 that kept my one step ahead. I was doing 130 for a few minutes to make up for a bathroom break

V1 all the way!!!!! The arrows help more than you know. Instead of wonder if its coming from in front or behind you, you know for sure. It would have help my buddy out of his ticket. He is getting rid of his whistler and getting a v1.

My v1 saved me a few times but i recently sold it. Wouldnt mind trying a Passport until i heard what whas said above about the v1 being 5 sec faster. In 5 sec your *** is pulled over explianing to the cop what you were doing.

nobodys said anything about Rocky Mountain Radar.so far from what ive come across there the best cause not only wil it detect everything,it also scrambles all laser and radar.so incase they're right over the other side of a hill where radars dont work your still covered cause if he cant clock you he cant pull you over

I've had experiance with Bel, Passport 7500,8500. The 8500 is the most sensive and picked up signals before the others did. I personally have the passport 8500 and its a nice detector. It has saved me a few times. I've heard nothing but good things about Valentine One. They are both a little pricey thou.

From what I've heard the Rocky Mountain radar detectors suck and the "scrambling" of radar signals is illegal, scrambling laser signals is not illegal but radar is.

passive scrambling is legal i think in most states, it active scrambling that is illegal.
