Passive radar scrambling doesnt work, rocky mountain radar doesnt work.. trust me I have had 2 supposed radar jammers and 1 detector and I have 5 tickets... I bought a cobra and got 1 ticket not I just bought the 8500 X50 (which can be upgraded)
The new Passport 8500 X50 replaces the 8500 model we christened "World's Best" when we first tested it in 2001. It tops the lineup for Escort dash-mount units; the same model with a red display is available for $299. Slip open its classy black padded carrying case and the X50 is easily recognized by its platinum-hued housing. Like the BEL Pro RX series, it features a re-programmable Motorola micro controller, permitting it to be upgraded to meet future threats.
Your best bet is V1 or the Passport, anything else and you will be spending more money on tickets than your radar detector.. TRUST ME!!

Well, I'm considering doing that stealth install of the 8500 in my rearview mirror; I live in CT but I'm always driving in NY (where detectors are illegal.... I hate NY).
I'm not sure if anyone has completed a hot stealth install of the V1? I usually drive in backroads, so highway trapping is less important to me, thus assuming the 8500 is better for me personally.
Who knows.. I like the comment about the guy who has both in his car. All you need is a diffuser and a bumper sticker reading 'untouchable'

Hey guys I just got my 8500 X50 in today, driving to class going 40 in a 35 (not really speeding).. Starts going off, I dont see anything cause the traffic was too thick.. Almost a mile down the road there is a cop sitting in the median.. Granted I wasnt speeding, if I was it would have just paid for itself!!!
