Where's the best place to pull power for Sirius tuner?
I purchased a Kenwood ddx7015 and a kenwood sirius satelite tuner to go with it. I'll be mounting the tuner in the hatch area where the factory cd changer would go. Where is the best place to power the tuner from?
I was told the harness for the cd changer is near the left rear speaker.
Could I just tap into the power wire from the harness?
Could I tap into the power wire for one of the rear speakers? Or would that not be enough?
I a newbie at all this stuff, and did some searches. Any help would be appreciated.

yeah, I think it's an older model. Kenwood's website says it is compatible with 2002 and up head units. I got it for $20 on ebay with an antenna, so I can't really complain.
So, if it does require me to pull power for it to operate, where is the best place?
Thanks in advance guys

My Pioneer XM receiver came with plenty of wire. I routed the power and signal wires to the front and connected the power wire to the power wire that feeds the headunit. I ground it to the same place as the power antenna (my pioneer xm receiver is on the passenger side).
You can find a wiring diagram here:

You can't use the wires going to the speakers for power. They dont carry anywhere near the voltage you need and its constantly fluctuating (thats how speakers work).

you shouldnt have to run any power if its a din cable. If you do just get it from the monsoon amp.
Perfect, thanks guys. It is a din cable. I'll find out on Tuesday if I need to run a seperate power wire or not. My HU comes in then. Thanks again for all the help. I can't wait to get everything together.
