Default How do you remove rear hatch speakers?

How the hell do you get the hatch speakers out of the plastic molding? Looks as if they have 2 rivets holding them in. Would prefer not to damage them when taking them out.

so to remove the rear hatch speakers you just drill those rivets correct? how do i secure the speakers when i'm putting them back in the panel?? or will they stay in place with the plastic "brackets"? just want to make sure before I start messing things up lol. thanks to all that help and sorry for the revival.

I would like to know also.

I saw a guy who drilled them back in, but the screws poked out of the plastic....

I just drilled mine out. My polk audio's came with the screws, and the retainer clips, so i just used those in the rivet locations. Not using anything might hold it, though i'd just put something on it.

Just use some small nuts and bolts if you don't have the screws and retainers. It's a very easy installation. I have hatch speakers starting at $24.99 to replace those as well. Silk tweeters with black fiberglass cone...very nice for the money.
