yeah i was thinking that the speakers would get all the amps power cuz all the crossover does is direct frequencies, the sub gets the lows, the speakers get the mids/highs. but im thinking that the tri-way mode of the amp may be designed to limit this? i havent found any info on this yet. maybe the amp directs most its power to the low frequencies in this mode?

I used to think the same thing. The larger Sine wave (low Freq.) is more like DC than the higher freq. It is not. RMS is an average measurement of output. Now intersecting wave points will increase current draw and the subs lower resistance will dictate that it will want the power more, but on an average the statement I 1st posted is correct. (I had a slightly long talk about it with Mark Eldridge) So all that means is that under NORMAL use the splitting is mostly correct. Under SPL type use. The Sub will dictate the most current.

For wiring up in series it is easy. Everything goes in line like Hot Dogs on a link.

From the amp + --[====]------[====]-----[====]-----[====]------[====]-- Speaker+

5 10watt 1.0ohm resistors wired in series. Just make sure they are well protected. and don't short on each other. If you can solder, Perfect. If not, get some butt splice crimps.

Go to a Auto Parts Store or radio shack. Get the red colored ones. (20ga to 18ga) They look like little barrels.

ok yeah that makes sense i was thinking on the max output side. even at normal volumes taking the full output(not max output) of the amp will destroy him me robots. i wonder how much more crap i can cram in my brain before it doesnt hold anymore. I have so many hobbies, i never have time for anything, lol.

I knew this was gonna happen. No big deal i guess. I hate butt-connectors and I've never soldered before.....looks like its time to learn.

Anyway, I was trying to get things set up and ready to go and I was wondering what size wire I should use to wire the sub? I was thinking 12 gauge.

Just use 12ga speaker wire.
