Default Sub suggestions

My last setup was 2 15" rockford punch HE2s which i had in my ford. The ford went down and took everything with it. Well actually i destroyed the subs by playing them for the whole ride from southern maryland to western connecticut. Anyway, i need something comparable to 2 15" rockfords in my camaro. But i think i want to stick with 12"s this time and i can't spend a ridiculous amount of money since i am a college student now instead of a high school kid with a job. Any suggestions.

How did you destroy the last set? Just playing them shouldn't destroy them. Something else happened.

2 12's will hit hard in a F-body. The cabin gain is great if they are installed in the back hatch area.

What kind of music do you listen to? That will determin what kind of subs to get.

What kind of price range are you looking for? Also what range for an enclosure?

I destroyed them by having the gain on my 2 "1200 watt" amps (which by the way only have one 30 amp fuse per amplifier) too high. The moral of the story is don't try and crank up the power on amps that probably only put out 150 watts RMS through 500 watt RMS subs. I knew what would happen but i usually never had them on long enough to burn up. Atleast my cheap amps lived through it, although they probably won't make it into my camaro.

I have always been happy with JL Audio equipment. They offer a wide variety of subs that will meet anyones budget, sound quality, and SPL needs.

I have tried many different brands and models but always went back to JL Audio for their superior audio quality.

Now I'm sure a college student can afford those

Look at the Adire Tempest.

But for a 12", check our eD, Adire Brahma, Image Dynamics IDQ, and Dayton Audio.
