Default Escort Smart Hardwire

I bought the smart hardwire kit (comes with the little remote display with power, alert, mute button) but I'm having trouble deciding how to wire it.

Anyone have it? Where did you put the remote display?

you can tap into the red wire on the ASR button for power (or TCS if you have a TA). ground it somewhere nearby; i did mine on the steering column. and for the remote display - hell, i dunno, find a place i don't like the remote display, so i just have the regular hardwire kit.

I tapped into the power and ground coming off the foglight and ASR harnesses. I don't have ASR, so I removed the blank plastic button and put the remote display there. It sits recessed but it looks ok. The only thing I'm not sure on is how bright the little LED is, it's kinda annoying but maybe I'll get used to it.

Mounted my remote display in my center console ash tray, and a kill switch right next to it, sweet as anything, and people can't beleive how trick it is when they get in my car. I have the cigarette kit, but i Kinda went nuts on it cuz i didnt have a place to buy the remote kit, so its basically a remote display. I actually really liked the idea of mounting it on the steering column cuz it will be good for catching your attention, because i have to look down and over to see my status lights.

The remote flasher works great in the F-bodies. There is an AWESOME spot for it. I have the Escort up above the rear view mirror, but I found that wherever I put the flasher, I couldnt' see it very well during the day when it went off. I have such a loud stereo that I needed the flasher.

It fits perfect, and I mean PERFECTLY in between where the curves of the speedo and tach come together. I just used velcro and secured it to the top of the plastic and it nestles just fine in that space between the two gauges. It doesn't interfere with anything anywhere and makes that light VERY bright when its directed that directly at your face. Pretty shweet!
