Default Tweeter mount

Where is everyone mounting their component tweeters in 4th gen camaros. Trans-ams already have a spot for them right? I have a camaro and want to upgrade to components but i don't want to mount tweeters and they look like i just stuck them on.

If you don't have factory places for tweeters, than you will need to do some modifying to your A-pillars or door panels. You could do something like this or this, with the second option probably being the best. I would have angled them more towards the back instead of shooting almost straight across the windshield, but they did a nice job on the install.

Clean install on the second one.

Terriable place for imaging though. The only way you could get worse is if you clipped the tweeter to your ear

That's a good idea... but doesn't it block your air?

That inside the vents idea seems pretty good, as long as it doesn't block air and the tweeter holds up to hot and cold air being blown all on it, i might have to look into that.

Not sure of teh ghey factor, but if you can score some single a-pillar pods or something like that... those things ricers always have to monitor collant temp and oil telp and pressure..... might be able to put the speaker in there and mount it really low on both sides... but again, teh ghey factor... not sure how it would look...

Can you elaborate on "teh ghey factor" for me, and how it applies to a-pillar tweeters? I think a-pillar tweets are a good idea, and you can adjust the sound level coming out of them if the highs are too overpowering.

I think he is refering to using A-pillar guage pods to house tweets. Which I guess isnt a horrible idea but I personally wouldnt do it. Not sure how you would find a passenger side guage pillar pod anyway unless you imported it.

Does anyone have any idea what I am talking about when I said the sail pannel pods???? I've been seaching more and just cant find them.

Oh ok. I was thinking of modifying a-pillars to accept tweeters, and gauge pods are the same idea. Cut a hole, add some plastic to mold around tweeter, sand it down, texture it, paint it, tada.

I've never been a fan of Q-forms b/c they take up so much room. I had them in my comp car in 99 but thats just b/c I cared a lot about imaging. They are great quality and an even better fit though. But even then my passenger side took one hell of a beating from buddies and girls with heels. I just cant even to begin to picture a q form on the floor with my M6.
