Default In dash DVD player

I just got my camaro and want a reasonable DVD player in my dash. What do you all suggest, and would I have to have anything special to make it work. I did a quick search for "DVD" and didnt see much help there...

Chris,

PM me if you are interested... I am selling my Alpine monitor, equalizer, and changer. I am making a package deal on the whole thing.. The equalizer comes with the top factory console... I don't think the cd changer works, but I am not charging anything for it either. ALL you would need is a DVD changer, or a playstation, or a cheap dvd player.. You will have an AWESOME system for little money. It also includes all the mounting equipment, harness adapter, etc.. plug it in and you are set... The following is a link to my for sale ad, go to the pictures of it, and you can see it installed in the car. I did not have the monitor flipped out at the time... You will have to get a DVD player of some sorts to watch a movie..

Thanks,

Alpine makes a good one. Pioneer makes the best/most reliable IMO.
Just get one in your price range that you like in those two brands

I am not a stereo person, just got a wild hair, due to the fact I will be trveling alot. Can I get an in dash with the dvd player in it, or does it have to be mounted elsewhere? Will my current speakers hook up. I plan to hit some stores this week to do some research.

Thanks Guys

I'm interested in this thread too

Also, is there a way to bypass the security feature that allows you to play DVDs ONLY when the car is in PARK

most of them just have a ground for the security.. not very hard to hook up the wire to a +or- source depending on the brand.. on my AVIC-N1 it was just grounding 1 wire

I have a Pioneer Avic-N1 in my F350, and I couldnt be happier with it, when I bought it the price was around 2000.00, sounds like alot but when you price it against other systems it is pretty cheap because it comes complete with GPS, CD, MP3, DVD, Radio Tuner, and Touch Screen. It also has some neat options it has a little guage cluster you can put up on the screen that can show (MPH, Volts, Compass, Time, Slope, Accel and Decel G Forces, and Right and Left G Forces)

You can also add XM to it, plus it has an option for a back-up camera (Which I use on my truck), whenever you put it in reverse it shows a picture of whats behind you on the screen.

How much would it cost for a fairly decent screen with GPS that I could play dvd's/ps2 games on? How much is the install?
